Casa Cassara Tasting Room Art Gallery History

Paintings by Andrea Slaby

Andrea travels around the world collecting beads, semi-precious stones, rocks, feathers, & vintage beads from the 1950’s, 60’s, 70’s & 80’s. While in her travels she gathers items that are from the indigenous cultural region(s) as well as gets acquainted with how the stones are represented in that part of the world. Her Flair for design and art make her jewelry a unique piece for any individual to wear with passion to express themselves.

In Andrea’s spare time, you can catch a glimpse of her doing yoga, surfing along the coast, hiking, or spending an afternoon in Santa Barbara’s sunshine painting canvases or taking photographs.

Her jewelry is sold in Milwaukee Wisconsin at various boutiques, Santa Barbara at local art fairs, and national art shows. Her latest exhibition is her India Collection, next destination Peru….

Andreas website is DreasDesigns.com.

Watercolors by Diane Avalle-Arce

My age?  No way.  I don't admit to being born in NJ, either.  I've painted all my life -- sold some -- gave away many more -- studied with wonderful people and not done them much credit -- did large oils when I was young and foolish, flirted with Surrealism -- gave it up for many years and wrote fiction and non-fiction -- sneaked back into painting with botanical illustration -- have been doing plein air watercolors  for the last few years, in Maui, the Hebrides, the Grand Canyon, the Rocky Mountains -- the Central Coast, and particularly the Santa Ynez Valley, is the best.

"My art is a reflection of my emotions. My work is a window into my soul. I start a painting with a general concept in mind, always leaving the possibilities of change available as to let the work evolve. I guide the painting as it guides me. I see it as a growing entity and stop it only once it reaches maturity. Form, movement and space are the important elements in my work. My sculptural works employ the same traits with the addition of symbolism and or metaphor. For myself high sculpture says more than it's esthetic beauty. Be it serious or a sense of humor, my goal is to create sculpture and painting that has a conversation with the viewer."

G.R. Stroup Guy Rocky Stroup was born in Lindsey, California in 1952. He pursued art as a career early in life. First as a sign maker in the 70's designing and sculpting hand carved redwood signs with airbrush illustrations. In the 80's after attending Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, he worded as a prop builder and sculptor for the film industry and also as a freelance illustrator. Since that time Stroup has focused his energies on "Fine Art by Stroup" "Fine art was always the goal, it just took me thirty years to get there" - Stroup Stroup shows his abstract paintings and wall sculpture in Portland, Oregon, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego as well as here on the Central Coast.
